Favourite Films From Every Year I’ve Been Alive: Part Two (1978–1992)
Click Here for Part 1 (1962–1977)
So, we are off and running again with part two of Sir Paul Combs Knight of the Dillon Empire’s marathon task of selecting a favourite film for each year I have been alive.
After an initial perusal of the films available for my second instalment, my first thought was a Tom Cruise quote “And the hits keep on coming”. Name the film! For a while I had so many in contention for each year, I thought I may need a bigger boat. The task was becoming increasingly difficult to narrow it down to one film, but all votes have now been cast and decisions have now been reached.
As we move to the end of this second period, I remember being such a regular cinema-goer at that time that I may have been able to match the great film guru Simon Dillon for cinema visits. However, when thinking about being a film reviewer if I said “I coulda been a contender”, I would have been way off the mark.
Because there are so many great films that I ashamedly left on the cutting floor, I will give a bit more of a reference to some of the contenders rather than just list them in my honourable mentions section. I will again keep the chit-chat down and leave the proper film reviewing to the expert film critic extraordinaire Simon Dillon.
