There are some television series that I watch every year because for me they are so good. I will be writing an article about my top pick by each category. As I watch a lot of crime drama I have deemed it to be my first. I am not going to tie myself in a knot and say it is the best because for one it is so subjective and two I don’t want to incur the wrath of Paul Combs who wrote a very interesting and intelligent article on using the word best in lists below.

Before I discuss my top favourite TV Series on crime, there are a few honourable mentions.

The famous Sopranos is an engrossing drama about the life of a New Jersey Mafia group headed by Tony Soprano starring James Gandolfini. It was extremely successful and popular. I got into this later than normal and I then binged watched the whole series which consists of six seasons (all containing 13 episodes except the last which is 21).
