After further investigation, however, it was determined that the boy had accidentally eaten some of his uncle’s heroin stash and, amazingly, his family had sprinkled heroin on the boy’s candy to cover for the uncle. The second instance of poisoning occurred in 1974, when 8-year-old Timothy O’Bryan died after eating Pixy Stix his own father had laced with cyanide to collect the insurance money.
