There I was contemplating an article about television characters when that devious but magnificent music prompt master from across the pond Buddy Gott is at it again.

Buddy threw out the challenge to name a perfect album for each decade one has been alive. How can you resist a prompt like this? I certainly couldn’t.

However, when I sat down to pick just one album from each decade then it got me terribly vexed. I am often vexed but at least this was a happy vexed.

There are so many great albums out there and to narrow it down to just one is certainly a challenge. And I am not ruling out just picking one Springsteen album. I just can’t commit to that!

Anyway, here is my selection:-

1960s: From Elvis in Memphis — Elvis Presley (1969)

Born in 1962, I should really have been a Beatles man but rightly or wrongly I became a huge Elvis fan and collected countless Elvis albums in this period.
