The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of 2023
It’s Spruce Springsteen Season
The festival season is well underway and all the madness that goes with it is fully amongst us. For some, the festivities have been going on since the start of November. I kid you not that I saw Christmas lights go up in some houses in the second week of November. Stores were full of Christmas gear well before Halloween started. I don’t want to be a humbug but really?
Christmas starts in our house only at the beginning of December which I think is proper. It is then that my wife puts the tree up and if it goes up any time before then I would pull it down. When I was young and living at home, the tree didn’t go up until Christmas Eve. Times have changed!
As we wind down to the end of 2023, it is time to reflect on another year which seems to have gone even faster than the last. They just keep getting faster which I guess is a reflection of my age.
To pay homage to a great Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western I will list my thoughts on the good, the bad, and the ugly of this year. I will do this in reverse order as I always like to finish on a high.
