They had me at the roof is closed!

As we entered the auditorium of the Johan Cruyff Arena the first thing I noticed was that the roof was closed. At that very moment, I knew it was going to be a fantastic concert.

I had gotten to the point where I assumed that I had already witnessed the best Springsteen concerts and that they could never match up to the ones the band did in their prime years. This is not a criticism or moan but something you accept as something older age can do. For myself, I can’t run anymore and have no hair. It is an accepted fact of life but doesn’t stop you from enjoying yourself anymore or going anywhere.

I was always going to enjoy this concert because it is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, but I honestly didn’t expect it to be as brilliant as this. I will need to reflect as to where I put this gig in my list of all the times I have seen him, but it has rocketed up the charts for me. It was superlative and just the tonic I needed after being denied the man and his band’s live music since 2016.

The other thing that I had come to terms with was that unless I go over to the US I would never see the band live again in an indoor environment. In the UK we are…
