I am putting the blame on this firmly at the door of Paul Combs as he cheered as all up yesterday with his list of happy Beatle songs to wash away our Monday blues. It got me thinking again. Like most of us, you can tell I have been up all night!

The UK is currently sweltering with unusual hot weather. Over the last few days, we have been constantly warned of the heatwave which could see temperatures soar today to a record 40 degrees in places. Some schools have shut, trains have had to slow down, flights cancelled, and we have been told to stay indoors. I am old enough to remember the long hot summer of 1976 and I think we had longer spells of this kind of heat then.

I am also sure our friends in Texas and Valencia scoff at us as they must experience temperatures like this on a regular basis.

Anyway, today is supposed to be the hottest day so I tried to think of some cool songs with a cold theme in the name to calm us all down. I thought I would challenge myself further by only picking from my current Apple Play list. I can’t believe I haven’t got “Ice Ice Baby”!

1. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out: Bruce Springsteen

I obviously have to start off with a great Springsteen song from Born To Run. The Big Man’s great sax playing will start to…
