So true. Never understood this

In the UK, we typically say “sport”, rather than “sports”, though confusingly we also say “maths” rather than “math”. Why do British maths come in plural, but we only do the one sport? No idea, just as I’ve no idea why Americans only do the one math. But it’s an amusingly head-scratching, albeit spectacularly irrelevant introduction to this article on my favourite sport-related films.
