Easter is upon us and this weekend many will be tucking into too many Easter Eggs while the younger ones will be hunting for them. Others will be celebrating the true meaning of Easter rather than yet another commercialised event it has turned out to be.

Those like me thinking of buying that second Easter Egg will have to admit that the diet that started so well in January is well and truly over as Spring beckons.

So just to celebrate, below are seven songs linked to Easter. Well sort of linked as it was the best I can do.

1. East At Easter: Simple Minds

Let’s kick off with one that has “Easter“ in the title.

This track is taken from their Album Sparkle in the Rain which was their sixth album and released in 1984. It was around about the time they changed their musical direction from Glam rock to a more recognised rock outfit.

I have seen them live a few times and believe me they do rock!

2. Everyday is like Sunday: Morrissey
