My Fury and Hypocrisy over Rock Concert Tickets
My first Medium Rant
As soon as the wonderful news of a Springsteen tour was announced, I had this article in mind, but Paul Combs beat me to it with his brilliant and as ever eloquent rant regarding ticket prices below.
I am coming from a slightly different angle and maybe half in the confession box, but it can’t be repeated often enough about us genuine music fans’ utter dismay at not only ticket prices but the accessibility of obtaining them before they miraculously appear on other sites at costs that could break calculators.
I am not a conspiracist, but I still can’t comprehend why the moment tickets go on sale they appear on other sites at vastly inflated prices. Sometimes even before the official pre-sale! It happens time and time again that these tickets are snapped up so that genuine fans either miss out or are continually exploited by sheer greed.
We are left with the hideous choice of rebelling and missing out or serving these immoral people. I appreciate that we live in a capitalist society and people…
