As we are now very close to the fateful day when the US will decide who will be the most powerful leader of the Western World, I thought this piece of nonsense would be most appropriate.

We all know Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, a national memorial where the heads of four famous US presidents are magnificently carved in stone. Not literally of course!

The question has occasionally popped up in quizes as to who they are. For the few who may still be unsure they are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.

One might argue there should now be other presidents up there but I am not even going to get into that debate. And I am sure one previous president who will remain nameless would want his head up there alone or even have four carved images of just himself.

I visited Mount Rushmore as a young child. It was whilst we lived in Canada and did a mammoth family trip across the US.

I was a bit too young to fully appreciate the enormity of such an impressive site but I am still grateful that I got to visit it in my lifetime.

Most movie lovers will also know that the site is featured in the famous climax scene with Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, and James…
