Good article and interesting subject. I like Steve Martin and think he is a good film comedy actor. I really liked him in some of the films you mentioned. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Planes, Trains, Two Brains., The Jerk. But maybe not a brilliant comedian. However I have to confess I have not seen his stand up. I don’t think he matches Robin Williams but very few do in my humble opinion. Comedy is always going to be subjective
