Getting to Grips with Modern Music for Our Quiz Team
Some New and Cool Songs That I Like Even Though They are not That New
I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to music. A few years ago, I would always pluck for Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, U2, etc., but lately, I have been trying to expand my music tastes and knowledge.
The Great Medium Music authorities such as Buddy Gott, Paul Combs, and Alex Markham have certainly helped broaden my knowledge as when reading their musical articles, I regularly add tracks to my Spotify Mixed list to play at the weekend over a glass of wine or three.
This has become even more key for our Sunday Quiz Team which my wife and I attend with four other friends.
Our Team is called “The Tragic Toffees” and only people who know about English Football will understand the significance. Most of the team are Everton fans so hopefully that may explain it to the others.
Our knowledge is pretty decent, and we have finished third on several occasions. We even managed to win the last quiz of 2024.
After two rounds we have often found ourselves in the lead. And then the music round comes along. We groan, moan and after that round is over we inevitably find our position has slipped down many places.
