Excellent review of a very important film of how Vietnam veterans were treated when they came back. Stallone was perfect for the part and think it is an excellent film. Like yourself I never cared for the sequels and you make an excellent point about the ending. I think it would have made for a poignant point if they had ended it differently but I guess sequels and money making was more important.
